A survey of the Incidence of Oral Protozoan Infection, from Dental Clinic of Severance Hospital.

Abstract
|
|
|
A survey of oral protozoan infection has been under-taken at the Dental clinic, Severance Hospital from June 1959 to April 1960. Total number of examined were 80, and the results are summarized as follows;
1. Among 80 out patients examined. 38.1% of Entameba gingivalis and 12. 5% of Trichomonas tenax infections were found only from 48 periodontal cases, and neither from other dental diseases.
2. There were no significant sex difference in incidence of Entameba gingivalis infection, while the incidence of Trichomonas tenax Infection in male showed 10 times higher than female.
3. The single infection of Entameba gingivalis was revealed almost 5 times higher rate than Trichomonas tenax.
